Welcome Paul Chaney Our New President
By Miles Durfee | June 23, 2008
Thank you for your continued interest and membership in the International Blogging and New Media Association (IBNMA). I would like to kick off this post by giving you an update and introducing you to the Re-launched IBNMA.
Over the last 6 months, it has become apparent that IBNMA has great potential, but we needed help to move it forward from concept to more tangible reality. For that reason, on this post I get to introduce you to Paul Chaney, our new President, and Jim Turner our new board member.
Paul Chaney
Paul has been involved in online marketing for nearly a decade. As one of the first business blogging consultants he understands at a granular level how conversational media tools such as blogs can be used for marketing purposes and has worked with a number of clients assisting them in deploying such strategies.
Paul was co-founder of Blogging Systems, a blog software company that significantly impacted the real estate industry by encouraging Realtors to adopt blogging as a marketing strategy. Along with former business partner Richard Nacht, he is the co-author of Realty Blogging: Build your Brand and Outsmart Your Competition, which similarly impacted the industry and which was the first blogging book to target a specific industry vertical.
Paul is a feature writer for Practical Ecommerce magazine on the use of social media for marketing purposes. He has led numerous blog workshops and seminars, including the first ever such seminar in Asia. He also blogged professionally with Weblogs, Inc., as well as with Allbusiness.com.
Jim Turner
Jim Turner, of One by One Media has joined the board. Jim is an industry veteran whose knowledge of new media is extensive.
Jim Turner is the leader of the One By One Media team and it was his vision that began the business in 2004. Jim is a well-respected social media consultant and professional blogger, mentoring others to become professional bloggers and leading companies through successful online social media campaigns.
Jim is a leader in the new industry of social media and business blogging, and is well connected in advertising, public relations, marketing and other business circles, consulting with Fortune 500 companies, large agencies and startup companies.
Jim has experience in management and leadership from working in the law for more than 20 years and is taking those skills to the social media arena and making companies successful as they enter into the Web 2.0 business space. Jim serves on the advisory boards of a few companies to consult them in how to make their companies work in the social media environment. Jim lives in Colorado with his wife and four children.
Over the next few months you will be hearing much more from IBNMA. We are in the process of confirming a list of well known bloggers, podcasters and other new media industry leaders for the creation of the advisory council that we discussed at our annual meeting last November.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. If you’ve not already done so, we hope you’ll consider joining the organization and become active participants.
@Jane - I agree. Jim is the best! In fact, I tried my darndest to get him to take the role as president. He refused, however, saying he didn’t feel it was his “burden to bear.”
Notwithstanding, he is a critically important member of the board with much to offer and I’m very happy he agreed to serve in that capacity.
