Veteran Business Blogger Zane Safrit Joins IBNMA Executive Board
By Paul Chaney | July 8, 2008
One of the tasks on our plate in this period of reorganization was rounding out the executive board roster by adding a fifth member. I’m happy to say that job is done. Veteran business blogger, former CEO of Conference Calls Unlimited, and now small business management consultant, Zane Safrit, has accepted our invitation to serve on the executive board.
He joins current board members: Jim Turner, Rick Calvert, Miles Durfee and myself.

Interest in IBNMA Continues
By Paul Chaney | June 25, 2008
I’m very excited to report that interest in the IBNMA continues to grow. Here’s the evidence:
- New members are joining every day via Blog World and here on the site.
- Several have expressed interest in helping us in various ways.
- We getting comments and suggestions like the one below.
There are several things you can do to help us continue this snowball rolling downhill:
- Subcribe to the RSS feed for this site.
- Place the “Founding Member” badge on your Web site or blog with a link back to this site. (It will be available shortly.)
- Add “I’m a founding member of the IBNMA” to your email signature along with a link to the site.
- Evangelize for the organization as you have opportunity.
- Submit your comments and questions. We want to hear from you.
- If you’re not already a member, what’s keeping you? Join today!
Here’s a comment from one of our members with some suggestions:
“Welcome to Paul and the new Board members! I can see the potential of IBNMA coalescing.
“I wonder if the IBNMA website can provide a ‘Blog Directory’ like a ‘Yellow Pages’ of member blogs all over the world, searchable by location, subject areas, audience interests and discussion topics.
“Another possible idea is that you could promote a featured member blog, with a new one every week or every month, on the IBNMA homepage.”
Some great ideas if you ask me. Honestly, there are so many benefits we can offer members it won’t be a matter of what we offer so much as what we don’t.
If you have ideas or suggestions for ways we can better serve our members, benefits you’d be interested in seeing us offer, or anything related to the growth of the organization, please let us know.

A Word from IBNMA President Paul Chaney
By Paul Chaney | June 24, 2008
Several months ago I was approached by Rick Calvert and Jim Turner who asked me to consider becoming president of the IBNMA. After taking time to “count the cost” and after consulting with several trusted friends, I accepted the position.
Some of you may know that, back in 2004, sensing that blogging would become a profession and that people would make their living in some blog-related field, I attempted to start an organization called the Professional Bloggers Association. Even though we gathered an A-list of founding members and had over 200 individuals express interest in joining, the association never got off the ground.
When Rick and Jim approached me, I felt as if this was an opportunity to get it right the second time around.
